What a Week!

I had a great week – albeit an expensive one. We had to have our entire septic drainfield lines replaced to the tune of . . . a very large loan!! So if you had an unexpected expense this week – I sympathize and cry with you!

Last week I showed you a picture of the largest watermelon I had ever seen. Weighing in at 51 pounds, it was a great visual representation of the amount of weight many of you have lost – or aspire to lose. I had some questions about the taste of such a gigantic melon. It was delicious, and it made enough to serve not only my family, but a gaggle of friends!

On a funny note – this is a picture of my littlest guy. For some reason he thought he should stack up his food and try and eat it without using his hands. I guess it was his own personal cupcake!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

We visited our local farmers market today also and I bought some stuff, though are watermelon wasn’t quite as large! :) I looked for one though…

Digging up a leachfield is NO fun and very costly, I sympathize with you. We had a big expense this week in the form of my husband’s new laptop. He does programming as well as engineering on it so he can’t be without, but it was a bad time for such an expense :(

    Your son is adorable!

House expenses are no fun. Last winter we were hit by an ice storm and were without power for 13 days. It’s no fun. Plus we had the cables ripped out of the house and a car totalled. Isn’t fun having a house?

I love that picture of you with the giant watermelon!! That knife looks so little compared to it!

Ugh, I remember when we got our septic system done at my cottage. Disaster. On the bright side, it will hopefully be good for a while once it gets fixed.

Sorry for your misfortune. I grouched at having to have a section of sewer line replaced; I can’t imagine what I would have done with an entire septic field to repair. Yikes!

  30. I love the space you have in your yard. My kids would love digging in that dirt! We live in inner city Sydney and are space poor.
Loved the watermelon! We planted potatoes in winter that are ready now, and we have hundreds! We are giving them away to everyone we know. :) Planting and growing F&V is a lot of fun.
