My biggest fear is losing the vision that I started with in the beginning. Too many times I have started with the best of intentions only to see them disappear after 2-3 weeks. I feel that I need to devote every passing moment to weight loss at least for awhile until it sticks this time around.

I have been doing a good job of losing weight, since June, but I do worry a little bit about when I reach my "goal weight." I've never maintained a weight before. I've always been trying to lose weight, so when I eventually get to the weight that I want, I'm not sure how I'll go about "not dieting." I still have about 40 lbs left, so I have a little while, but it's still in the back of my mind.

@Katie - You are very welcome. You can eat junky and it will be okay, but you can't eat junky everyday!! (I just had to say that!) I'm glad you took the time to comment - it means a lot to me.

@Lara - It really is just another thing, and you have obviously learned it. It is super easy to fall into the trap of "one mistake and you're out."

@Hadley - Thanks so much. You are doing it, and you will get all the way to goal. And then - you will stay there. I have confidence in you!

@Bearfriend - I read your post from a few days ago, and now with this comment, I can really feel what you are feeling. It's a struggle, but I sense within your writings and thoughts that you really are making a change within your own self. I'm rooting for you!

@Biz - I chuckled when I read the last sentence. You are so funny. I think a lot of us have that all or nothing mentality. I haven't seen that DVD, but it sounds really inspiring and motivating.

@teresa - I'm so glad you took the time to comment. I hope that you will be able to meet your goals - both short and long term.

@Doc - You are welcome. Thank you for your support - I love reading your comments.

@Gigi - Me too. Not only during my weight loss phase, but also now. I have to work hard at self confidence. I don't have it all together.

@John - That's a great point about starting out strong and then getting sidetracked and thrown off course. Keeping yourself as a priority is a great tool. Good idea!

@MackAttack - I'm glad you are excited, because it is exciting to see your body and your attitude change. You have obviously worked hard at learning how your relationship to food works, and are succeeding in meeting your goals. Congrats!

@Sarah - You know - when I was reading your comment I was struck by the fact that you really do understand yourself. You realize that self confidence is something you need to improve, but you aren't letting that stand in the way of your success. I love that. I had a hard time with self confidence and weight, but the more I lost the more confidence I had that I could do it, and I could keep it off. And then as the maintenance period lengthtened, I believed that all that hard work and success were real and working. You have done great - stay strong!

@Jody - I can see that. Now that I've been in maintenance for so long, I too have areas of my life that I wish I were more self confident in. But like you, I'm working on it, and not giving up!

@NewMe - I just read your post - very insightful. And challenging to me as well. Thanks!

@michelle - great point about having goals to work towards as an incentive to stay strong and keep going. I still do that - rather it's a physical goal, or a goal to finish writing something, or a financial goal. Great point!

@Jules - I love consistency! I wonder if there is such a thing as a Lazy Gene? I'm so glad that you are staying strong and focused on healthy eating while you are pregnant, and then already thinking about getting back towards working on a healthy weight after the baby is born. That's so wise! Take good care of yourself and the baby.

@Marcelle - You have definietly won the battle. Those pictures you posted recently were a huge WOW! You know what I love about you? Your great attitude towards life and weight loss. Have a safe trip back home.

@Lynn - I have an inner perfectionist inside me too. And learning the lesson you described really did help me with my weight loss. I like your train chant too! You can, you are!

@Lori - I agree 100%. Mistakes do happen, and it's not the making of mistakes that throws us off, but what we do with those mistakes.

@Sagan - I still need to keep my head on straight. There are times when I do things very similiar to what you described. Often (but not always) I stop myself and think, "What are you doing?" Thanks for the comment!

@Leah - You are already doing it. You've lost 20 pounds, and I really believe that you will get down to your goal. Just one day at a time!
