Having Children are a Blessing. Weight is relative... You just have to let go of the past frustrations of losing or not losing "baby weight" and start living. The weight will come off. Some of us have to work at it a little harder than most. My best friend is a prime example of being pregnant one day and being slim the next! But I still love her! LOL! I would have children all over again but, this time would listen to my Doctor and gain only what I needed not what I think I NEEDED! hahah! And with the last 3 I did just that and my C-Section recovery was easier! Yes, Ladies I have had 5 C-scetions and live to tell about it! There are a few women who have had more than that. The hard part is having morning sickness 24/7 which kind of puts you in eat mode trying to make the nausea go away. 5 girls total and 100lbs to lose and Was a Marine Wife for 23 yrs! ( Husband just retired) ... But, I am hopeful I will shed this weight for good! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi Diane!
Just catching up with your posts. Thank you again for doing that guest post. It was wonderful.
As you know, I was particularly interested in this topic! I think it is so interesting to learn that you had easier pregnancies once you were at a healthy weight. It's really inspiring to know that having children won't mean a death sentence with all of my weight loss efforts!
Congrats to you on this, and thank you for being such a role model when it comes time to starting a family!

Pregnancy is totally different to normal life for me. Normal life used to revolve around my eating disorder and I slowly became heavier and heavier, but when pregnant I tend to eat intuitively.

I gained 24 lbs with my first as I was very slim to start with
I was normal weight with my second and gained 12lbs, I was only in hospital for 6 hours and when I got home I realised the weight was gone.
With my third I had spent 5 years recovering from my eating disorder and battling a hypothyroid problem. I was around 190lbs and I gained around 5-7lbs - that also all came off.

This pregnancy I start at around the same weight, I am much fitter than before but also classed as a mature pregnancy. I am now almost 19 weeks, have gained a little under 2lbs and as you know - have been told not to gain any weight whilst pregnant at all!

You have a courage that most of people doesn't!! I took 20kg for my first son that i lost right after (too quick i was only eating 1000kcal per day, crazy!!). Equal i gain weight back again (+8kg) because it was too fast. Then i got pregnant of my second child +25kg. And i tried so many times that crazy diet whose didn't work on that time.
After almost 2years i'm still trying to loose those 15kg left and it is so hard. It is a fight of everyday. But thanks to blogs like yours (awesome i love it) i understood a lot of things and it helps me to reduce my portion, exercice and LIVE.
The fact is that i would like so much to have a fird children but i'm so worried to gain weight again (+ those i didn't loose...). And because of that dumby reason i think i'm not ready to have one. It's so sad not to increase my family because of the weights. I wish we could share pregnancies with our husband (mine is so thin and eat so healthy food compares to me..). But it is not.

Your article is great because i know that if i arrive to loose my 15kg that means after another pregnancy i can do it again. Believing in ourselves.

xoxo

My weight problem started when I was 7 after my parents divorced... As I became a Teenager I wasn't "overweight" just a little heavy. About 10 to 15 lbs what I should weigh. Then in High School I lost a good amount of weight and thought I looked pretty good. I then met my future husband and the weight started to come back on. After My oldest Daughter was born I went from 130 (pre pregnancy) to 210 at delivery! Ugh! Lost 40 of it and then became pregnant with my second daughter. I have been trying to lose weight for the last 27 yrs! I am currently on WW and am hoping to shed this weight for good. That you for your inspiring Blog!

No way am I ever having kids- they're nice and all, just not for me. But if I were going to have them, I'm sure that I would be all about vigilant nutrition and exercise.

Although I am done having babies, I would love to go through one knowing what I know now about nutrition. I gained 79 pounds w/ #1! Also just want to let you know I won't be back in blogland until first week of Dec since I will be traveling to the UK. :-)

"Very few are blessed with pregnancy weight that falls off." My goodness, so true. My 40-50 pounds was added with my first kid 18 years ago. I've lost about half of it but it took me an awful long time.
