I LOVE THIS. This is EXACTLY how I feel this holiday season. I have been denying myself the right to lose weight. I said to myself today ‘next year is your year. 10lbs, 20lbs less is SO doable and you will be going on this journey.’ I love what you said about ‘embrace where you are’. I think that’s the most important thing. Instead of hating on ourselves and making lofty goals..it’s about embracing where we are and turning into a different direction.

That was really very nice to watch. Diane! We had our celebration last night, and one of our guests is in the place you were all those Christmas’s ago, except she does not express the desire to help herself. We appreciate the wonderful person she is, and hope that fate watches over her health, as she seems powerless to do so.

Thank you for the gift (video) this morning. The words are so supportive and to see you moving/talking makes it that much more personal.
We opened gifts last night. I had just opened a gift with all sorts of food goodies (dried fruit, nuts, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate). My 10-yr-old son said, “You better not eat all of that. You’ve put on a lot of weight.”
The whole room was silent and just looked at him. My 8-yr-old daughter put her hand on my back. Then my son said, “No offense.”
I didn’t cry about it until now. It’s too painful to even post on my own blog.
I think he was trying to be supportive. I’m almost 41. Will I be fit by 42? I sure hope this next year makes a difference.

Wonderful to hear see you in action and hear your voice, feel your hope for all of us struggling.
I am where you were and within a few pounds of your top weight; exhausted, disgusted and feeling very ready for change. I pray God gives me the strength to transform me in mind, BODY and spirit this year. From your lips to God’s ears I hope this time next year there will be half of me writing and feeling much better as I head into my 50′s.
