This morning I was thinking about what a friend asked me yesterday afternoon at around 3:30 p.m. We were talking on the phone, chatting mindlessly about nothing, and she said, “I’ve got a strange question for you. What’s the last thing you ate?”
I laughed and asked her why she wanted to know. She said, “Well, you always seem to eat so healthy so I was wondering if I caught you unaware what your answer would be.” I told her that the last thing I had eaten that moment was a handful of animal crackers. (Honestly, it was only half a serving!
)
So my blogging friends. Time to confess.

Yesterday my answer would have been a cup of probiotic vanilla yogurt! Most days … not nearly that good
Yesterday it was five chocolate chip cookies. Now today I will do much better.
This week I am back on track so if I had to answer that I would say *German WW quark *
but normally, a handful of crisps…
Now you know why I gained weight…but its coming off, I’m making sure of that!

Probably an apple. Since I’m still at work then, there’s really no opportunity for snacking. I’ll bring an apple for the time in between lunch and getting off, but that’s about all I have available to eat!

Yesterday afternoon I had peanuts for the first time in a long time. Many afternoons I have roasted veggies. I also like yogurt with cereal now but that can set off cravings so I am steering clear for a bit. I do okay most day… up to that time. Now if you asked me about my evenings, that might be a different story!

My usual routine at 3:30 is that I am waiting for my son to come out of school. We then bike home and by 3:40 I am sitting down to watch Oprah, with my usual snack of 8 almonds and a sliced apple sprinkled with cinnamon. Yesterday I actually had the apple but instead of almonds I had walnuts and a small cup of plain soy yogurt (I did upper body weights and needed a bit extra protein). I’ll admit, sometimes it is junkier, but really most days it is the apple and the almonds and a cup of tea.
Well, I eat one of my mini meals at that time so it would be healthy.. yesterday I was running behind so I had one of my home made protein bars & a few almonds at that time!

Yesterday at 3:30 my answer would have been – an open-faced tuna sandwich, 3 sliced tomatoes and a glass of skim milk. The bread was toasted sourdough, not the best choice in terms of nutrition, but so delicious! It added up to about 400 calories and kept me going until dinner – so not so bad I guess.
That is hilarious!! My answer would be yogurt and apple.

Yesterday (or most days) at 3:30pm? Either an apple, a bunch of mini-carrots, or maybe some turkey jerky.
Three months ago, it would have been a KitKat AND a King-size pack of Reese’s Peanut Butter cups. Very tasty, but deadly.
Yesterday my salad and whole wheat bagel had deserted me, so I had a Fiber One bar.

Yesterday at 3:30 I was driving to an out of town assignment. Before leaving, around 2 p.m., I had a salad with baby spinach, tons of other veggies, a small amount of smoked turkey and a sun-dried tomato and garlic dressing. The dressing was mediocre–I’m a dressing maniac. I had a bottle of water to go with it.

At 3:30 the answer is going to be something healthy about 90% of the time. I’ve usually just eating my mid-afternoon snack which is fresh fruit and some nuts on most days. Now ask me again at 5:30 and you might get a different answer. When I get home from work is my most dangerous time of the day!!!

Well that is an easy question for me these days. Since I started wearing Invisalign teeth straightening braces I no longer snack in between meals. I have to brush and floss after I eat before I put the invisible braces back in so it has cut out all snacking for me! It is great for the weight loss efforts!

Lunch out with my BFF after our WW meeting. I had a grilled chicken salad, “hold the croutons, hold the cheese, (champagne vinaigrette) dressing on the side and please don’t bring bread to the table”. And coffee afterwards with 2 tsp of 1/2 and 1/2. A splurge. But I’m getting hungry again . . . think I’l have some of the sf orange jello w/ mandarin orange pieces that I made with my 2 yr old granddaughter.

today it’s an avocado with lime and some frozen grapes.. LOVE frozen grapes.
At that time I had just eaten a handful of nuts. Not bad!
