I lost 150 pounds thirteen years ago and have always wanted to share my thoughts on nutrition, diet, exercise and weight maintenance. I’ve maintained the weight loss in spite of four pregnancies and numerous life changes. It is my hope that as I share my passion for healthy living with you that you will be inspired to get more healthy too.
I have seven wonderful children, two girls and five boys. And yes, they are all my biological children, and yes, they are all from the same husband. I’ve been married for twenty-two years to John, my best friend. We have a regular life in a small town in the midsouth. I love being a Mom and find great joy from my simple life.
Thirteen years ago I weighed over 300 pounds and was just absolutely disgusted with myself. Then one day, after the birth of my third child, I knew that I had to do something about my weight. Through a lot of soul searching and research, I came up with a three point system that changed my life. Over the years I taught the weight loss plan that I called “fit to the finish” to scores of women. All came away from the class with a new outlook on healthy living. Some came away from the class with significant weight loss and changed lives. I’ll tell Carol’s story another day.
It took me about 14 months to lose all that weight, and through that experience I regained confidence in myself. I had been overweight, morbidly obese actually for so long that I had lost part of who I was. Throughout that 14 months I worked hard at not only changing how I looked on the outside, but also getting back in touch with who I used to be.
No matter where you are today, you can be somewhere else tomorrow. You can lose any amount of weight that you need to, if you will only take the first step.
